USA & France: Separated at birth: Exhibit 2

This one I call: The "Mailbox".

Which also comes with a way to tell if you've got mail.

Typing 'Mailbox' instead of 'Postbox' reminds me of a scene from my time working in the US.

ME: (TO DEPARTMENT SECRETARY & OTHERS NEAR HER DESK) Where can I post a letter around here?

SECRETARY & OTHERS: (BLANK LOOKS)

ME: I've got some post to send.

SEC & OTHERS: (STILL BLANK, UNCERTAIN)

ME: (SHOWING LETTER) Where do I take this?

SEC & OTHERS: (BRIGHTENING) Oh. The Post Office.

Not quite as stylish as those US versions. . . . .

For more yurt related angst, take a look at this (from the BBC news site, 17th June)

What makes me laugh is that the people who are objecting to the yurt say that it ruins the view - yet they have a rusting tractor parked outside their house!

I have to say, though, that I have relatives that live in Weardale (not Wierd-ale, although sometimes I wonder . . .) and it is one of the most picturesque countryside I've been to. . . . . but yurts are probably a bit too cutting edge for the way of life there . . . .

I love that they found the most hippified yurt-goer to lock it up in the end clip. Just in case we missed the "New Age" reference.
