www.ecovallee.com world record attempt

Last Tuesday afternoon, around 6.30 French time, www.ecovallee.com version 2.0 was introduced to the world.

Virtually.

There were a few bugs to begin with that needed squishing (including an outrageous horizontal overflow nightmare in Internet Explorer) – and there are still a few crawling round – but it’s now in a bloggable condition, which is why I’m subjecting you to these pixels today.

Credit for www.ecovallee.com can, will and is flowing to the following excruciatingly fabulous people (self excluded). For a more cinematic feel, you could turn off the lights, put on some music and tread some ice cream into the carpet.

Dave tells me that the www.ecovallee.com search engine rating will be improved depending on the number of external links I have to www.ecovallee.com – but I can’t for the life of me work out how this can happen (if you’ve got any ideas, send them to the email address on www.ecovallee.com).

Oh. One other thing. Readers of www.ecovallee.com will notice that we’re opening to members of the public in March 2010. This is so we can: make the site as beautiful as it deserves to be; not kill ourselves with impossible deadlines; and see something of our children while they are small.

If you want to come and see us this year anyway, get in touch and we’ll see what we can do.

Hey Alex,

Gimme a couple of hours, and I'll show you ALL you need to know. After that, a little study, research, and practice, and you'll have the listings, of which external links play only a part of for google.

Call me,

Greg d'Issigeac

BTW - your doing a great job - I saw the overflow and flash things, but haven't seen your updates. I'll chexck now. Peace, bro!

Oh yeah,

I'm a virgo, too, so I understand the particularities of perfection.

Great to hear from you, Greg. Now I have access to my ftp details, I can tweak to my heart's content. I'll call you soon. Left your number at home. Ciao.

Alex, sweetie - my only (minor minor) criticism (and that's too strong a word) is that the trebuchet picture is not as sharp as all the other images - too fuzzy, looks amateur. And I can say that 'cos it's one of mine!

Otherwise - cool! I won't tell Caitlin that she's been removed :-P

The trebuchet picture quality is my fault. Well kind of... its partly Alex's fault for wanting all the images to be square, but taking the originals home with him and leaving me with a version which had already been cut down; when it got resized the second time we fell below its original resolution...

That'll get fixed soon.

Dave

What he said. But you can also tell Caitlin that she'll be back. Oh yes, she'll be back...
