Double first

Her Outdoors usually finds the orchids in écovallée. But the other day I was the first to spot this, behind the polytunnel:


It's the first Lizard Orchid we've seen on our land. You'd think, at about three feet tall, it'd be hard to miss.

They don't look much from a distance do they? But I think the individual flowers are really pretty.

Normally we cut this patch of grass for hay, but the weather's been against us this year. There are some spectacular Pyramid Orchids next to this one, too.
